Delivery is available at an additional $250 including installation (most Melb Metro)

Last Season we sold out of over 200 Nucs, this year we will be aiming at 250 units, with 75 already reserved.

We breed our own stock, we DON’T just re-sell.

We also offer a delivery, installation and education package.

We offer delivery, installation and mentoring sessions at $400 (most Melbourne Metro), this normally happens a few days after I have the Nucs.

We do rural ‘Delivery, Installation and education package’ packages as well. 

The cost is dependant on distance and how many Nucs and hives are being installed.

‘Delivery, Installation and education package’

• Deliver your Nuc to your house or property
• Install into your Langstroth/Flow/Long Lang beehive (Warre hive installation needs a little extra planning)
• Go through every frame and identify all components of a colony inc:
  • Eggs
  • Larvae
  • Brood (capped & uncapped)
  • Pollen
  • Nectar
  • Honey
  • Bee read
• Mark the Queen
• Perform a sugar shake test
• Honey extraction basics

Identify potential disease and how to manage them (Small Hive Beetle (SHB), Wax Moth, Chalk/Chilled Brood).

Describe Biosecurity protocols and how to look for American Foulbrood (AFB) & European Foulbrood (EFB).

I also teach how to manage inspections, swarm management, checker boarding as well as any other concerns or aspects of beekeeping you would like to learn

You can bring a friend or two as well, we are always happy to show and teach Bee Stuff!

ABOUT OUR Nucs

We raise our Nuc stock near Mt. Macedon from two high quality ‘Breeding Queens’.

‘Breeding Queens’ are specifically reared and instrumentally inseminated (AI) to produce high quality commercial Queens that are part of your Nuc.

Our Queens come directly from an F0 Queen (direct breeding Queen).

The biggest advantage of this is that we know the genetics of the Queen and primary mating drones, in turn this produces Queens that have attributes that are highly desired, including:

• Docility
• Good brood patterns
• Good cleanliness
• Excellent nectar collectors
• Disease free 

Last season we produced over 200 Nucs and run out of stock!  

We don’t rush our girls, and prefer to get a better colony than just produce numbers hence exact date for pick up can only be established if the conditions are good, the Queen has been accepted and is laying at least 1-2 weeks after mating.

Pick up is from our warehouse in Thomastown.

Pick up will be early in the morning, normally around 06:30-07:30am to give you time to place them in their new hive and start orientation flights.

We have a large amount of bee keeping goods in our show room, and you are welcome to come and have a look and a chat when suits.

– The brood pattern of our Queens is normally 80-90% coverage on brood frames.

– Good honey production on plastic foundation

– Low swarming genes with large bee colony numbers

– Hive doctor nuc boxes are optional at $20 extra

– Grafting eggs from breeding Queen frames
