Australian Apiarist beehives are manufactured of high quality New Zealand pine with dovetail joints that have been pre-drilled and countersunk.  Our hives are wax-dipped (boiled 15 minutes) with a combination of waxes that boil out moisture and increase the life of a hive for more than 20 years, some wax-boiled hives have been around in excess of 50 years!

Waxing hives in this manner allows them to look beautiful and bring out the natural grains of the timber without the need for painting.
