How It Works
Thermosolar windows in each box and the specialised ceiling collect and concentrate solar energy directly into the brood chamber. No electricity, no chemicals, no external equipment required.
The brood chamber reaches 40–47°C — the lethal threshold for Varroa destructor at all life stages, including mites sealed inside capped brood. Bees tolerate this temperature comfortably. Mites do not.
A first thermotherapy kills up to 90% of mites. A repeat session 7–14 days later catches any that were in capped brood during round one. The result: full mite population elimination — without a single chemical.
Between treatments, the thermosolar system continues to improve thermal comfort, accelerate spring colony buildup, and reduce winter cluster energy expenditure — passively, every single day.
